What Is A Prothonotary?
The Prothonotary is the office where documents for all civil cases are filed, recorded, and maintained.
In addition, the Prothonotary assists with passport applications and oversees the Naturalization Court where those who have successfully met the criteria can become US citizens.
If a Prothonotary does not competently perform his/her job, then, in the eyes of the law, the document or transaction never existed or occurred and legal rights are jeopardized or lost.
